Georgetown Speedway is located at the intersection of heavily traveled Route 113 and Speedway Road in Georgetown, Delaware: a 40-minute drive from Ocean City, Md., and just miles from the popular Delaware beaches.
Constructed in 1949 by businessman and auto racing pioneer Melvin L. Joseph, Georgetown Speedway is not only an historic landmark in Delaware but is well-known across the country for its role in the development of stock car racing as it is known today.
Georgetown Speedway features a fast, progressively banked four-tenths-mile oval that produces high speeds and thrilling racing action. The facility – renovated extensively in 2023 – has spacious grandstands, ample parking, a large, flat pit area, room for overnight camping and more.
A special-events schedule of high-profile programs headlined by Millman’s NAPA Auto Parts Modifieds and Stockley Speed & Supply Super Late Models is planned to bring some of the region’s top talent to Sussex County, Delaware.
Georgetown Speedway annually hosts the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series Fueled By Sunoco, Rapid Tire USAC East Coast Sprint Cars, United Racing Club (URC) Sprint Cars, and more. The speedway annually hosts the historic and prestigious Camp Barnes Benefit Stock Car Race presented by the Delaware State Police.
