THANK YOU FOR THE SUPPORT OF OUR OPEN PRACTICE - BIG NIGHT AHEAD JULY 22 - A Note From The Promoter

I wanted to take a moment to say thank you for all the race teams that came out to support us Tuesday night at Georgetown Speedway. It was very cool to see rookie drivers looking for some of their first laps and top names like Bunting, Pettyjohn and Jester fine-tuning their winning rides during our open practice.

The open practice was also key for us. We are at the mid-point of our first season and it is a continual work in progress. Our focus has been getting more moisture in the surface and although it started out a bit too wet on Tuesday, we feel were making gains. Additional equipment has been added to our track prep lineup and the results at our Late Model show were very positive. A big thanks to Dan Fiedler who has stepped up to help Lou Johnson as needed on race day and during the week.

Electrical gremlins have been a staple at Georgetown in recent years. Tuesday night allowed us to finally identify the root of our turn-one issue. A complete new breaker box with heavy duty breakers will be installed this weekend and tested next week. If you drive by next week and all the lights are on before next Friday, you arent missing a race; well be testing our new system. Thank you to Paul Tomaszewski for the electrical expertise.

Our friend William Mears recently completed a new deck on our pit trailer. He did an awesome job for the love of the sport and it will be used for drivers meetings, redraws, etc.

A lap counter is on (back) order and we are eagerly anticipating its arrival.

Attention now turns to our next event on Friday, July 22. We welcome back the Modifieds for the first time since March and the touring URC Sprint Cars visit for the second time this season. It should be an outstanding show!

Again, thanks for all the support this year. It is appreciated!
