TWO FULL DAYS OF RACING SET FOR MID-ATLANTIC CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND AT GEORGETOWN
Two full days of racing await at Georgetown Speedway. Mid-Atlantic Championship Weekend takes place this Friday and Saturday, October 27-28.
On Friday night, a $3,000-to-win, 30-lap Small-Block Modified Championship headlines the program. Also competing in full Friday programs are the L&J Sheet Metal Crate 602 Sportsman (heats and 20-lap feature, $1,000 to win), Delmarva Chargers (12-lap feature), Delaware Super Truck (12-lap feature) and Southern Delaware Vintage Stock Cars (12-lap feature).
Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series Fueled By VP big-block/small-block Modifieds compete in qualifying heat races on Friday night.
Super Late Models will time-trial and run their qualifying heat races on Friday night, as well.
Gates open in the pit area at 4 p.m. Friday. Grandstand gates unlock at 5 p.m. A 5:45 p.m. drivers meeting will be called with 6:20 p.m. hot laps and 7:15 p.m. racing.
Friday Adult grandstand admission is $25. Seniors (ages 65 and up) and Students (ages 13-17) pay $20. Kids (9-12) pay $10. Children eight and under are FREE.
Pit admission is $35. Kids (ages 6-12) pay $10. Children five and under pay $2.
Two-day passes will be on sale Friday. Grandstand two-day passes are $40 for Adults and $30 for Seniors/Students. Pit area two-day passes are $60.
After the races Friday, a post-race bonfire will take place with music by DJ Blue Hen Productions.
Saturday brings the STSS Modified Velocita-USA South Region 40-lap finale as a $5,000 winner and $10,000 series champion will share the headlines. Five drivers enter the weekend with a shot at the $10,000 crown: Ryan Watt, Duane Howard, Jimmy Horton, Ryan Godown and David Van Horn.
Super Late Models have their 40-lap main event with $5,000 awaiting the winner on Saturday.
Also on the program: Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series (heats and 20-lap feature), RUSH Crate Late Models (heats and 20-lap feature), Little Lincolns (12-lap feature), Delmarva Charger (12-lap feature) and Delaware Super Truck (12-lap feature).
Gates open in the pit area at 2 p.m. Saturday. Grandstand gates unlock at 3 p.m. Hot laps get underway at 5 p.m., with racing at 6 p.m.
A special Halloween parade for the Kids is planned for 5:50 p.m. Kids in costume will walk in front of the grandstand and receive treat bags compliments of the speedway.
