Back At It: Millmans NAPA Modifieds, Mid-Atlantic Sprints Set for May 12
GEORGETOWN, DE – Back at it.
The newly renovated Georgetown Speedway fires back to life for its next event on Friday, May 12, headlined by the Millmans NAPA Auto Parts Modifieds in a 25-lap, $3,000-to-win event plus the first 2023 appearance by the Delaware Auto Exchange Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series.
The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Melvin L. Joseph Memorial, scheduled to be the third Georgetown event of the season on April 28, has been postponed to Thursday, Aug. 24.
Joining the Modifieds and Sprint Cars are the Blue Hen Dispose-All Crate 602 Sportsman (20 laps, $1,000 to win), Southern Delaware Vintage Stock Cars, Little Lincolns, Delaware Super Trucks and Delmarva Chargers.
NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series points are at stake for both the Modifieds and Crate 602 Sportsman.
One event has been run for the Modifieds and Crate 602 Sportsman this season. Two New Jersey drivers – Ryan Krachun in Modified and Ryan Simmons in Crate 602 Sportsman – reached Victory Lane.
For May 12, pit gates open at 4 p.m. Grandstand gates are unlocked at 5 p.m. Hot laps hit the track at 6:20 p.m., with racing at 7:15 p.m.
Grandstand admission is $20. Seniors (ages 65-plus) and Students (ages 13-17) pay $16. Kids (ages 9-12) pay $10. Children 8 and under are FREE.
Pit admission is $40 (ages 13 and up), $35 (NASCAR Members), $10 for Kids (ages 6-12) and $2 for Children ages 5 and under.
All Georgetown Speedway events will again be streamed live on FloRacing (www.floracing.tv) produced by the Dirt Track Digest TV production team.
Georgetown Speedway, originally constructed by Melvin L. Joseph in 1949, is located at the intersection of Route 113 and Speedway Road in Georgetown, Del., just miles from the Delaware beaches and less than a 40-minute drive from Ocean City, Md.
